Course Description:

This course is tailored to educate shooters in the fundamentals and concepts of precision rifle shooting. Students will learn the proper precision shooting fundamentals and gain deeper understanding of their equipment to engage a target from any distance. This course will cover such topics as: understanding natural point of aim, utilizing a shooter sock, and properly logging data in your data shooting book.

All students will be provided a shooters data book with formulas, range cards, log book templates and general precision rifle knowledge.

Class begins at 9:00 a.m. There is no set end time as every student’s level of learning is different. We strongly suggest you arrive early.

• Rifle setup and maintenance
• Scope setup and maintenance
• Fundamentals of marksmanship
• Understanding Natural Point of Aim
• Data gathering, data confirmation, and scope/reticle manipulation
• Building a solid shooting position
• Fundamentals needed for accuracy (equipment & personal)
• Zeroing weapon
• Target engagement from 50-100 to 200 yards
• How to use any scope’s reticle (mil dot, duplex, moa)
• Target engagement using holds
• Target engagement using turrets
• Reading wind
• Proper shooting positions
• Building a Range card
• Discussion of external factors that influence the bullet in flight
• Mil/ MOA shooting what they are and how we use them and why
• Scenario training Skills Test (medium to fast passed)
• Accuracy drills

Hardware/Kit Required:

• Rifle/ Carbine of Choice with quality scope (variable zoom is preferred but not a must) All students attending should have a durable rifle that is capable of 1MOA accuracy at 100 yards and scope with turrets.
• 100 rounds of rifle ammo
• Bipod and/or shooting bag
• Calculator
• Shooters sock (2 pairs of a camo color knee high socks, and 10000 air soft bb’s)
• Shooting mat (optional)
• Writing material
• Ear protection/Eye protection
• Water hydrating device
• Spotting scope or binoculars (optional)
• Gloves (optional)
• Hat (optional)
• Clothing appropriate for strenuous activity which is seasonally appropriate (long pants required)
• Weapon lube and maintenance tools
• Bagged lunch or snacks
• Positive attitude and open mind (leave problems at the door/check yourself before coming out)
