RBT/Force on Force Instructor

The objective for this course is learning to effectively design and implement reality-based training (RBT) utilizing Non-Lethal Training Ammunition (NLTA). Together with instruction, the trainer will gain greater conceptual understanding by participating in a variety of reality-based NLTA skill building exercises by active participation as a team member tasked with the development and implementation of group exercises utilizing NLTA.

Operators will learn how to develop a training program utilizing a series of drill progressions involving scenarios with trained/skilled roll players. This type of training provides an environment to manage the operators own physiological response to stress while applying good tactics and decision making.  

Participants will each take part in a variety of skill builders, drills and scenarios that will serve as a  foundation for application with their respective agencies. They will also be tasked with the development and instruction of a group training session utilizing NLTA and the concepts and methods learned in the course. Additional topics include but are not limited to: Available technologies for force on force training, training model phases, safety guidelines for NLTA training, Use of Force and application, role player development, testing protocols, utilization of limited resources including budget/facilities and scenario development.

Acting as a platform to test the strengths and limitations of their agencies individual protocols in a variety of areas including tactics, arrest techniques, combatives/DT, CQB, operators will be able to determine what works, and what doesn’t to better determine survivability. 

Facility Requirements: Classroom and Indoor/Outdoor Area for NLTA training.

Prerequisites

  • Must be a licensed sworn law enforcement officer/agent with arrest authority in the prevention, detection, apprehension, detention and/or investigation of felony and/or misdemeanor violations of federal, state, local, or military criminal laws.
  • Must be able to participate in intensive training lasting up to 10 hours per day.
  • Must not have any medical restrictions
