Shields have been deployed for many years, however things have changed since the being of shield work. P2 Concepts has developed a Ballistic Shield course with concepts that are practical, up-to-date and for any officers who is deploying a ballistic shield. Just like any other piece of equipment we utilize in our everyday operations, it can be a valuable asset or a huge liability, depending on how we train. Upon completion of this course attendees will have a greater working knowledge on proper shield deployments, benefits and capabilities.

  • Shields in Law Enforcement 
  • Different aspects of a ballistic shield
  • Defensive and Offensive shield work
  • Live fire drills utilizing a ballistic shield
  • Deliberate clearing/entry concepts with shield
  • Low Light shield work
  • Threshold evaluations
GEAR LIST
  • Semi-auto pistol of choice, 3 or more magazines
  • Patrol rifle (if available), 2 or more magazines
  • Duty/Tactical gear with holster and magazine pouches
  • A functional shield from your agency (if available)
  • Minimum 450 rounds of pistol, 200 rounds of rifle ammunition (provided by student)   
  • Force-on-Force PPE (face, long sleeve, gloves, neck, groin)
  • Notepad, pen, sharpie
  • Ear protection
  • eye protection
  • Simmunition face mask, gloves, neck/groin protection. Long sleeve top. 
  • Tools, cleaning kit, and lubricant for your pistol
REQUIREMENTS
  • Current Law Enforcement, Military, Government Credentials
  • Must show proficiency in firearms with duty pistol and rifle
  • Must be in good physical condition
  • Must be able to participate in intensive training
  • Must not have any medical restrictions
